9 Facts You Probably Didn’t Know about EasyWorship

What makes EasyWorship different? By Gabe Harris, Marketing and Business Development for EasyWorship

This may surprise you, but we’re actually a lot like everybody else.

EasyWorship offers the same basic features as other church presentation software products: text over video, motion backgrounds, video importing … the list goes on. Brand names aside, each product’s core function is to project professional presentations for worship services.

Like I said, we’re a lot like everybody else.

You might be thinking: Okay, but how can similar products deliver the same on-screen results, yet have drastically different customer experiences? We believe it boils down to philosophy — one that impacts both the way we treat our customers and the features we develop for them.

This is what sets EasyWorship apart.

Our philosophy is simple: everything we do – and the way we do it – must fulfill our mission to serve and love the Church. That means that we’re not just about making software. We exist to help churches create a distraction-free worship experience that introduces lost people to Jesus.

So how exactly does EasyWorship’s product demonstrate our philosophy in a way that matters to your church?

  1. Get big church technology on a small church budget.

You will look like a million bucks without spending it. Our software is powerful enough for you to design professional presentations efficiently and affordably. And you won’t need the latest hardware to get great results.

  1. Built-in freedom. No hidden fees.

Our unique “One Church, One Fee” Philosophy means you get unlimited software use, for unlimited events and computers, associated with any single campus. This is called a site license, and other products charge $300 – $400 extra for this.

  1. No risk. All reward.

When your church buys EasyWorship, you’re entitled to our 90-Day “No Regrets” Money-Back Guarantee. If you’re not satisfied with our product, we’ll refund your money. Period. (To our knowledge, no other presentation software product offers this.) We make this promise because we’re confident in our product and because we understand that spending donated money is a huge responsibility. We want you to feel safe in purchasing EasyWorship.

  1. Easy to learn. Easy to teach.

EasyWorship can take your presentation from zero to worship-ready in minutes, and it’s deliberately designed to be volunteer-friendly. We’ve kept the interface simple and clean, and we’ve labeled the buttons and menu options to make sense to anyone – even if they’re not a media professional.

Feature Highlights for Version 6:

EasyWorship 6 introduced some brand new features that will be game-changers for the church at large. We listened to thousands of our customers and rebuilt the software from the ground up.

  1. Goodbye, PowerPoint. Hello, Presentation Designer.

Now you can do basic text editing and spell check, or get fancy with reflection, shadows, transparency, and looping announcement slides. Prefer to design in PowerPoint instead and import your file into EasyWorship? No problem. [Learn More]

You can also build themes using your favorite fonts, backgrounds, and layouts in Theme Designer, so you don’t have to start from scratch each time. This will ensure a more consistent look and feel, regardless of who is building your presentations. Any volunteer can just drag and drop your favorite style onto any presentation. [Learn More]

  1. Save design time with Collections.

Tired of digging through computer folders for that one background you like? Collections are basically playlists that keep all of your favorite media resources organized and in plain sight. So when it’s time to build an Easter or Christmas worship schedule, you can easily find that background or video, then simply drag and drop the item into your presentation. [Learn More]

  1. Get last-minute Scriptures and songs on the screen in seconds.

Ever been in a jam when your pastor asks you to display a Bible verse or song that you didn’t have in the schedule? With our improved, lightning-fast Scripture and Song Search, you can have it on screen in seconds. You don’t even have to remember the chapter, verse, or song title. Type in a lyric like “Father we love you” or part of a verse like “Jesus wept”, and you’ll see results instantly. [Learn More]

  1. Worship team, meet your cheat sheet.

The new and improved Stage Display (also known as the Foldback Screen) is your music team’s best friend. It’s an easy-to-read, stage-facing display that prompts your worship team with song lyrics, cues the first line of the next slide, and keeps everyone on schedule with the countdown timer. 1. Built-in pro features for broadcast.

Now you have the production quality you need to prepare for a television program or live streaming. With Alpha Channel and NewTek Tricaster AirSend support, you can make EasyWorship a part of your broadcast workflow. 9 Things You Didn’t Know about ProPresenter

ProPresenter is a powerful media presentation program designed to create impactful worship presentations. Many of you have been using this software for years, while others may be brand new. Either way, it’s always fun to learn some new and useful tricks when using the software. So here is a list of 9 things you didn’t know about ProPresenter.

  1. Ability to Resize the Screen

Not all projections screens are the same size. If your screen does not fit the default output size in the presentation, then no worries. You are able to right click on the output screen and choose a size that best fits your screen. (page 74 of manual)

  1. Confidence Monitor

We all know the power of ProPresenter and the quality of presentations that can be created through its use. But, did you know that you can have confidence monitors to share information with people other than the congregation? You can have a monitor on stage or in the back of the sanctuary that shows the lyrics or announcements for those on stage. You can even have a screen in the green room to keep people in touch with what is going on during service. This is a powerful side of ProPresenter that can be put to good use. (page 106 of manual)

  1. ProPresenter Can Be Run through a Remote App

What if you are helping out with another ministry and your tech person got stuck behind a herd of sheep? Hey, you never know. Well, you can run the software from your iOS or Android device to help deliver a seamless service…even in KidsMin! (Pesky sheep.) Download ProPresenter Remote

  1. Information Overlay

We may be familiar with this one, but do not take it for granted. When you drop your children off in children’s ministry they are assigned a security number. This number is important. Because when little Johnny decides that he needs to throw-up his morning’s breakfast of chocolate milk and Lucky Charms, the nursery is going to need a way to contact you while you’re in service. Now would you rather see a number pop up in the lower right hand corner of the screen, or a message “Little Johnny has thrown-up and chocolate milk and Lucky Charms are everywhere. Please come get your kid.”? That’s right, I’d rather see a number. So use this feature and teach the parents to look for the security numbers or else their kid’s name will go up next…you can do that too. (page 96 of manual)

  1. Label Parts of a Song

We all know the worship leaders who like to deviate from their prepared arrangement of a particular song (I am one of them). We create our plans, give them to the producer, and ProPresenter is setup to flow seamlessly in the order given. But low and behold, the worship leader wants to go back to the bridge, and then maybe to verse 2, and oh look…the worship leader is still not done…they want to repeat the entire song! If that happens, then no worries. With ProPresenter, you can label the verses, the bridge, the chorus, the tag, etc. That way, once it’s entered, there is no need to worry if a new person can figure it out and follow the worship leader…because everything is labeled. (page 17 of manual)

  1. Assign Hot Keys to Slides

And then, for really enthusiastic worship leaders, it’s good to assign a hotkey to each part of the song. That way, it just doesn’t matter what or where they want to go. Let them roll. You just hit the key that will follow along with them and no one will know the better. (page 17 of manual)

  1. Utilize Social Sites

Did you KNOW? This is great. Wait for this one…ok…ready? You can set up ProPresenter to pull in specific tweets or photos from instagram using a unique hashtag for your service, conference, or event. That’s right. Do you want people to live tweet during a service? Just tell them to tweet something and include (for example) #mypastorrocks and then the media team can approve it and the tweet or instagram will show on the screen. You could even use this for doing a live poll during your event. Give it a shot! (page 110 of manual)

  1. Volume Normalization for SoundTracks

If you use multiple audio or video song tracks, you can normalize the sound across all the tracks to keep from having to adjust the volume across the tracks during live events. (page 75 of manual)

  1. Buy and Import Media

You can buy and import media directly from ProPresenter. By going to the store page, you are able to buy that last minute slide, mini movie, or motion background, download it, and set it up in ProPresenter. It’s easy as apple pie! So no worries, if you or a leader have a different idea at the last minute, ProPresenter has you covered. (page 4 of manual)

How to Pick the Right Worship Presentation Software –…

It’s 1998. You come to church early, turn on your gigantic Windows desktop, wait forever, open PowerPoint, and type out each slide for the new worship hit, “Open the Eyes of My Heart Lord.” Using a video meant turning on the VHS player, which took 5 minutes of the service to just set up. Thankfully, a few developers decided that there had to be a better way and created worship presentation software! Today there are a number of worship presentation software options. But how do you know which one will serve your church’s needs best? We’ve taken the top softwares and created this infographic to help answer those important questions.

*We define Multi Screen as being able to provide different projection content to separate screens.

I’ve included the links to order a copy of the software sold from WorshipHouseMedia. Plus if you order one of these from WorshipHouseMedia, there is a special offer to receive $600+ of free media!

2 Design Apps Your Church Should Be Using

1. Zoommy

So you need some stock photography, but you don’t have time to go through all those dag-um stock photography websites. It’s even more difficult to find the right photo to match your needs. Maybe you need stock photography for a worship song, or for a website. Maybe you just need it to make some pretty rad announcements, like I did in my blog post here. I have got the app for you, it’s called ZOOMMY. Zoommy allows your to browse 100% CC0, “No Rights Reserved” stock photography. It crawls over 20 sites finding the latest and greatest stock photography for you to use, for free!

Better yet, it even allows you to search based off certain search keywords. For example, let’s say you need an image of the forest. Well, all you have to do is type in the word, “forest” and it will retrieve photos with the proper tag. From there, you can filter by color or even by square, portrait and landscape photos.

Zoommy will set you back $3.99 and it’s available for both Windows and OS X computers.  For more information, check out their link https://zoommyapp.com/ .

2. Canva

You’re not a designer, but you need to create announcements, posters, social media graphics and more for your church. Enter Canva. It’s an extremely easy to create awesome graphics (think no Papyrus) and, best of all, it’s free!

While I agree with their claim that the best way to understand Canva is to try it, I’ll give you a brief overview here to help you grasp the main ideas.

When you log in, you’re sent to the “Your Designs” page. You can choose from a range of handy pre-set design sizes for social media, documents, blogging and ebooks, marketing materials, and email headers. If those options aren’t enough, or if you already know your design size, you can choose “custom dimensions” to begin.

There are a number of free and paid photos within the website, or you can upload your own. To create this post’s header image, I first grabbed an image from Zoomy. After creating a custom sized design and importing the image, I resized it within Canva.

Canva Screenshot 1

On the design page you have a range of options on the left and your work space on the right. You can choose from text, grids, frames, shapes, lines, illustrations, icons, photos or charts. I went to the text option and added my text.

Canva Screenshot #2

Two get the pop-out type look, I positioned the text how I wanted it and then copied the text box, changed the color, and used the text box options to send it back (it sounds complicated, but it took less than a minute!). If you’re running low on time you can also choose from an assortment of pre-made snazzy text options from the left.

After adding my text, I chose the “search” option from the left and decided to use a design from the “lines” section. I added it below the text and changed the text color.

Canva Screenshot #3

After making a few more sizing and color adjustments,  I chose “download” from the top right, and the image downloaded for me to add to the top of this blog post!

Some other helpful features include what is called Design School to help you master fundamental design ideas and Design Stream which is a Pinterest-like stream of Canva design creations to spur your creativity.

A new part of the website that I’m not currently using is Canva for Work. It’s a paid resource, but has a bunch of extra features like team collaboration, branding guides and templates, and “magic” resizing.

Quick and Easy Website Design with Beaver Builder

Having a decent church website can make or break the first impression someone has on your church or organization. I have to admit; I do judge a book by its cover. You can tell a lot about what a church values just based off their website and the words that they choose to put on it. Many churches can’t afford a designer or pay someone regularly just to make updates. Which is why more and more churches are building web pages themselves using a WordPress theme. When trying to find a quick simple solution to website building, I have found Beaver Builder to be the BEST bang for the buck. I’m in the middle of doing a church plant, and I can’t afford to pay a designer at this point. However, I also recognize that more and more people are using websites to get information and I wanted to create an avenue for people to partner with us. So, I used Beaver Builder myself to design a web page. Check out the video below to see what I built.

Beaver Builder is great because it offers a quick drag and drop option. For example, say you want to place a calendar, map, or blog post on the front page. It’s literally as simple as dragging and dropping it into place and then making the appropriate edits. With Beaver Builder, you only need to have a rudimentary understanding in order to make a high-quality website.

Beaver Builder offers many premade themes that you can either drop your customizations into, or you can add your own elements. You aren’t limited to one way of designing. Literally, if you can think of it, you can do it with the power of Beaver Builder and WordPress.

Beaver Builder will set you back only a few hundred dollars. However, in my opinion, it’s worth it. You will be saving a lot of money in the long run by not paying a developer or a designer. If you purchase the $199.00 version you get great support from their developers to help answer potential problems or bugs.
