Blind Boys of Alabama
The Blind boys of Alabama first came together in 1939 when they sand together at the Alabama Institute for the Negro Blind. They were then known as “The Happyland Jubilee Singers”. In the early years they performed for soldiers at training camps during WWII. They began touring the gospel circuit in 1945. In 1948 they recorded “I Can See Everybody’s Mother But Mine” as their first single.
