Welcome New Producer of Comedy Short Videos!

Written by Dale on November 24, 2010

TunaFish Productions is the production company behind the wildly successful DVD’s featuring the comedy of Tim Hawkins. We are excited to be able to offer short clips of this hilarious comedy to church leaders through WorshipHouse. These clips can be used simply as transition videos when you want to inject some comedy into your service, or they can be used as sermon starters. It may seem odd at first to think about using a stand up comic in a video for a sermon intro, but once you take a look you will see how it could work. Is your Paster lousy at telling cheesy jokes to start the sermon? Tell them about these videos! Trust me your church will thank you.

Welcome New Producer: Story Media

Written by Dale on November 2, 2010

Story Media is a small production company run by Jeremy Aylett and his wife, who are church planters. Jeremy told me recently he is passionate about following God’s call and he is excited that part of that call is to use media. Jeremy is passionate about creating quality media along with the passion of spreading the love of Jesus in urban areas. We are excited to offer the motions and other media that Story Media will create on WorshipHouse. See the motions they have created here. Make sure you check back to their producer page as much more is planned in the near future.

One of our favorite motions that they have created is City Motion which has a cool blurred look to it.

NEW Service Starters from iWorship

Written by Mo on October 20, 2010

Today iWorship released a brand new product line called Service Starters. These are short videos that combine a worship song with matching visuals and are intended to be played at the beginning of your service to get the attention of your congregation. Service Starters may feel similar to iWorship’s song tracks, but they’ve shortened the songs and included relevant Bible verses and other visuals to enhance each song.  Though we’ve placed these videos in our mini-movies category, each download includes a second version that has a countdown clock.  Normally, these can be had individually for $10 a piece, but for a limited time they’re on sale for only $8!  So, go check them out here and let us know what you think.

“Lamentations Inspiration” Do those two words go together?

Written by Dale on September 29, 2010

We love the take on Lamentations that this new video by Even Schneider gives. You may not first think of hope or inspiration when you think of Lamentations. This video, Lamentations Inspiration does just that though. It reminds us that we are not to be consumed by the troubles we face in life. The video has a really cool way of illustrating this by starting off with a black background and white text, then changing to a colorful visual representation of the truth that inspires us in scripture. Take a look and I bet you will be inspired…

Four Story Creative is new to WHM, but not film!

Written by Dale on September 20, 2010

Four Story Creative is a new producer to WHM but not to the world of Church Media Resources. Their short film “Last Stop” (which is amazing by the way) was selected as one of the winners in round 1 of the Doorpost film project. Last Stop is a powerful dramatic video that will get you thinking for sure, and also probably convict you to start praying against the evils it portrays. It is a bit longer than most sermon videos you may expect to find on WHM, but once you start watching you will find  yourself getting pulled in. It is shot well, and acted well. It deals with a the tough topic of abuse. It is a heavy film, but worth watching. Take a look and see if you could use it in your church.

Welcome Four Story Creative to WHM and get excited for what they will be offering in the near future. Word on the street is they have some Christmas content in the works.

New Producer Brings Type to Life!

Written by Dale on September 14, 2010

We have to admit, most of us here at WHM are font nerds. We like good type. We think it is important. So when we saw the first submission from our newest producer, Hewitt Design, we liked what we saw. We also really liked it when we found out that Hewitt Design is based out of Scotland. We love having diverse producers from different walks of life. Please welcome Hewitt Design by taking a look at their video Gospel Type. We think you will like it. If you don’t well, I’ll let you take that up with the font nerds an staff here…

Get to know your friendly neighborhood media producer!

Written by Dale on August 30, 2010

If you have been watching our Just Added videos you may have seen a curious producer name in the mix, BlueBoxMedia. We decided to ask them some questions so here you go! Enjoy this interview and remember our producers are people too!

WHM: How did you get involved in digital art and motion graphics?
BlueBoxMedia: Well, about 4 yrs ago I was attending a church that had a very talented media guy doing videos and motion graphics. His work inspired me so I decided to jump into it, and as all good media guys know you GOT to start somewhere! so I did! with Windows Movie Maker. I still have my very first video somewhere on some hard-drive stuffed in some box. Boy that was a funny video, loaded with default transitions and movie clips. Anyways, eventually I wised up and put myself in an internship where I was underneath someone who knew what he was doing, and I literally started filling myself with information from tutorials to hands on experience. It’s been a fun ride so far and I can’t wait to see what God does next!

WHM: What programs do you work in to create your videos?
BlueBoxMedia: The major programs I use is Adobe Suite, C4D and FCP. Pretty standard stuff. But, like I said earlier… It all started with Windows Movie Maker :)

WHM: Where did the name blueboxmedia come from?
BlueBoxMedia: The name “blueboxmedia” came from two things. The first thing was that my favorite color is blue, and the second thing I was trying to think of something that could be a fun way to describe what I want blueboxmedia to be. For that I had the idea that all good things come in boxes. So eureka! the name blueboxmedia was created. It has my favorite color and its a box full of media.

WHM: What is your favorite type of church media to use?
BlueBoxMedia: My favorite type of church media to use, is the kind that is relevant to your audience. Which is why I like WHM so much! it allows church’s from across the world to find media that is relevant for them personally! There are many really good producers here on WHM and its an honor to be working along side them in bringing people relevant content to “The Church” across the world.

WHM: What would you say to a church who isn’t yet using media about its value?
BlueBoxMedia: The best way I could describe it is simply look at how Jesus taught. He almost always talked in parables or “stories” that related to the people he was talking too. Jesus used relevant content to preach the Gospel so that people could grasp what He was talking about. That’s what I love about WHM. WHM provides relevant content for everyone in all different situations and styles. Content that will help preach the Gospel in a unique way.

WHM: What is your favorite movie(s)
BlueBoxMedia:My favorite movie(s) .. now this is an unbelievably hard question! There are so many good movies out there. Recently I watched “Inception”and I thought that was a brilliantly told story! I don’t know..I like a lot of movies, like most people I don’t think I can nail it to just one. :)

Modern Parables at WorshipHouse!

Written by Dale on August 18, 2010

Modern Parables is the name of the DVD and Download sets of some of the best short films I’ve seen for small groups. The films do such a great job of bringing the parables of Jesus to life. This teaching tool is absolutely fantastic. I love all of these videos, so I couldn’t pick a favorite to highlight. Watch the trailers on the website and if you think they will work for your small group download the videos!
